Allie’s responsibilities at Marks Law Firm include helping clients with their day to day issues. This regularly includes helping clients with bankruptcy and consumer protection issues. Allie knows good communication is the key to successful outcomes.
Allie’s skills as a law clerk are unmatched. She is amazing at drafting pleadings, correspondence with adversary parties, and legal research. In addition to all of her responsibilities at work and in class, Allie currently serves as the Student bar Association President. As SBA President Allie works directly with the Law School faculty on behalf of the student body to improve educational opportunities. Allie is also a member of the Drake Law School Agriculture Law Journal. Each year nine articles written by students, are published in Drake Journal of Agriculture Law. Allie received the honor of having her article, “The Next Generation of Chapter 12 Bankruptcy: Revising the Remedy.” published. Allie believes that the success of Marks Law Firm is maintained by continued expansion of knowledge into the very specific fields of law we see every day. For this reason, we are excited to announce that Allie will be on a semester-long sabbatical starting in January 2017 in order to clerk for the Honorable Judge Anita Shodeen, Chief Judge of United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Iowa. Through this experience Allie hopes to develop a better understanding of the judicial aspects of bankruptcy in order to better help our clients in the future.
